Welcome, Mystery Friends!

Get ready, middle school detectives. Twenty all-star authors have joined forces to bring you a series of escape rooms, brain teasers, and clever stories where you can solve the mystery yourself. The book is SUPER PUZZLETASTIC MYSTERIES, edited by Chris Grabenstein (yes, the one who writes the exciting LEMONCELLO series and many other books!)

My debut mystery story “The Red Envelope” won a contest to appear in SUPER PUZZLETASTIC MYSTERIES. “The Red Envelope” pits nine accomplished middle school students against each other, the clock, and a fast-paced series of riddles, clues, and codes to earn coveted spots in Mr. Michael’s middle school honors class. The student who finds the correct answer first wins the Golden Answer Award. Can you find the correct answer before time runs out?

The main character in “The Red Envelope” is Catherine McCleary (or McClever), based on my twelve-year-old daughter Catherine. I tried to name the character Carson, but the real Catherine insisted that the character’s name should be Catherine, too. I am currently working on a full-length book starring Catherine and her friends solving more challenging puzzles.

I am a proud member of Mystery Writers of America, a middle school mom, and a business litigation attorney. Follow me on Twitter @ladcassidy for the latest news.
